While attending the University of Toronto, JOY FIELDING was active both as an actress and a playwright. After her graduation in 1966 Miss Fielding followed an acting career that led her to a season at the Stratford Festival, into innumerable CBC and CTV dramas, and finally to Hollywood. "Hollywood was not exactly thrilled," she says.

It was while trying to break into the movies that she developed her interest in writing. On her return to Toronto Miss Fielding wrote THE BEST OF FRIENDS, her first novel.

Joy Fielding lives in Toronto with her parents and has her next novel in the final draft stage.
